Good Times Font: A Delicate Script for Digital Branding

It was a late afternoon when I first tested Good Times on my client’s boutique website. The goal was to give the brand a more personal, romantic feel without losing its modern edge. As I dropped the font into the hero section, something clicked—it felt like the perfect blend of elegance and approachability. That’s when I knew Good Times had potential beyond just being a pretty script.

Good Times is a stylish and delicate duo font from Script Amp, designed for those who want a touch of romance in their digital designs. It carries a soft, flowing character that feels hand-written yet refined. This makes it ideal for websites that aim to evoke emotion, whether it's a wedding planner’s portfolio or a cozy lifestyle blog.

Testing Good Times in Real Web Layouts

I used Good Times on a few different sections of the site. In the hero area, it worked beautifully over a full-width image of a couple at sunset. The contrast between the warm background and the gentle curves of the font made the headline pop without overwhelming the viewer. For the navigation bar, I paired it with a clean sans serif font—this combination gave the site a balanced look that felt both professional and inviting.

On mobile, the font scaled well. I noticed that even at smaller sizes, the details remained legible, which is crucial for responsive design. When placed over dark backgrounds, the font still maintained good visibility, though I did add a subtle white outline for high-contrast areas.

Where Good Times Shines Online

Good Times is best suited for display purposes rather than body text. It shines in hero titles, call-to-action buttons, and decorative accents. For example, on a product landing page, I used it for the main headline and paired it with a simple sans serif for the supporting copy. This helped maintain visual hierarchy while keeping the reader engaged.

Another great use case was in a coaching website where the font added a personal touch to the “About” section. It wasn’t used for long paragraphs, but instead for short, impactful statements that highlighted the coach’s personality and values.

For branding elements like logos or social media graphics, Good Times brings a sense of warmth and authenticity. It works especially well for creative industries such as photography, wellness, and lifestyle niches where emotional connection is key.

Readability and Practical Tips

While Good Times is visually appealing, it’s important to consider readability in web design. It’s not recommended for long blocks of text or small form fields due to its ornate style. However, when used for short phrases or decorative headings, it enhances the user experience by creating a memorable visual impression.

I found that using it in combination with a clean, readable body font like Helvetica or Open Sans provided the best results. This ensures that the design remains accessible while still maintaining a unique aesthetic. Also, checking for webfont availability and ensuring proper loading times is essential before implementing it on live sites.

When using Good Times on buttons or CTA areas, I made sure the font size was large enough to be easily clickable. Adding a bit of padding and spacing around the text also improved usability, especially on mobile devices.

Limitations and Considerations

Despite its charm, Good Times isn’t suitable for every web project. It shouldn’t be used for dense content like legal disclaimers or technical documentation where clarity is paramount. Additionally, if your audience requires high accessibility standards, you may need to test the font against color contrast guidelines and ensure it works well for users with visual impairments.

Before using Good Times on client projects or commercial websites, make sure to review the font’s licensing terms. Confirm that it supports all necessary languages and includes features like ligatures or alternates that might enhance your design. Some versions of the font may offer additional weights or styles that can be useful for different design needs.

In summary, Good Times is a versatile and elegant script font that adds a romantic and artistic flair to digital projects. Whether you're designing a boutique website, a course landing page, or a portfolio homepage, this font can help create a cohesive and engaging brand identity. Just remember to use it wisely—pair it with simpler fonts, keep it for display purposes, and always prioritize readability and accessibility in your design choices.
